History of New covenant

__

New Covenant Presbyterian Church was founded in 1975 by dedicated Christians desiring to join the newly formed Presbyterian Church in America. Within six months, the Calvary Presbytery received our new church. In early 1976, 127 charter members welcomed our first pastor, the Reverend Billy Rufus. We spent two years working prayerfully to secure property and build a place of worship and study in Manning. We began holding weekly worship services in the new sanctuary in December 1977.

Through the grace of God and the leadership of dedicated pastors and leaders, we have grown and thrived. Two building projects (and mortgage burnings) added a fellowship hall, enlarged narthex, bride’s parlor, new pastor’s office, activities building, and more classrooms. Today the church is a vital part of the people of God in our community as we create and recreate an atmosphere in which each of us will grow more Christ-like.
